A Little Chaos Backstory.

This is the latest book. Hopefully better than the last ones. Oh, I hope I say that every time I start writing a new novel, as surely that is the only way to get better.
A Little Chaos is basically about a man (say hello, Luke) who finds himself the object of Chaos's attention when he's at his worst. She's given him the power of magic, for what reason both of us have yet to find out. Unfortunately she's not given him the power to control it. That he has to find out for himself. Don't judge, he's had a rough time of it and he's been homeless for a couple of years. His family were murdered. He's human and he makes mistakes.
This is Chaos.
Who knows why this primordial force has decided to appear to Luke as a six-year old girl. It certainly causes Luke to think he's hallucinating when she appears in front of him on a dark November night as he's freezing in a doorway. We have no idea why she didn't teach him how to use the magic, or what she wants him to do with it, but it's not going to be anything good. She could say hello, but you really wouldn't want her to. Unfortunately for her, taking on the appearance of a child has an unexpected side effect. While it's fun and particularly useful for manipulating humans, she's found herself enjoying swings, ice cream and puppies. May the gods help Luke if she wants a cuddle, although they are deliberately not paying attention right now.
Oh Sam, I am sorry that Luke's inability to control his magic brought you roughly 364.5 years into the past. I'm sure he meant nothing by it, and he didn't kidnap you on purpose. I promise. Sam is an AI, which he will tell you, after meeting Luke, that it stands for Actual Intelligence. He fought in the political war to get equal rights for mechanical humans, and has been called pretty much all the derogatory names you can imagine, and some you can't. They had won the war and were now recognised as fully functioning members of society. To be pulled back into a time where the closest thing he has to an ancestor is ChatGPT is frankly insulting
Mission for Luke: Find out who really killed his family and enact justice, as the police got it wrong.
Mission for Sam: Get Luke to concentrate on controlling his magic so he can send Sam back home.
Mission for Chaos: Only Chaos knows, although she's having enormous fun in this form so far and is in no rush.
